Proposal to offer provision for 2 year olds

The Governing Body of The Rise Federation, consisting of Ruswarp Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School and Seton Community Primary School, is consulting on lowering the age range at Seton School from 3-11 years to 2-11 years. The provision is intended to be implemented from September 2025.

This change is to support the governors’ wish for the school to offer enhanced nursery provision on site to meet an identified future shortfall of childcare places in the area.  This proposal is informed by the government’s expansion of early years childcare:

The proposal aims to fully integrate nursery provision into the school’s Foundation Stage offer.  The Governing Board’s vision is to ensure the nursery supports the local area, with the aim of offering high quality early education delivered by experienced and well-trained staff across the Foundation Stage.

The headteacher, Helen Isaac, is happy to chat to anyone about this process and the reasons behind it (please ring 01947 840257 and ask for Mrs Isaac) and further information is included below.
